Calling all parents!

Inevitably, your school-age child will be invited to birthday parties. S/he will likely attend close to 10-15 a year and that number multiplied by the average cost of a gift ($10-20) and you’re spending $100-200 a year!

Then, when you're the one throwing the party, you are suddenly drowning in gifts from the guests that attended. An overabundance of toys can quickly become clutter, which can have quite a toll on your family.

Fiver Parties are a trend that is quickly becoming very popular. It's a solution for both hosts and guests because it eliminates the hassle of shopping, the expense, and the piles of presents. En lieu of a gift, guests are asked to bring $5 for the birthday kid. This can quickly add up between friends from school, the neighborhood, and family members.

At the end of the party, the parents can unveil a large/expensive gift that everyone's money has contributed to. Or, the birthday kid will later be able to use that money to get something they really want and will actually use - perhaps even an experience!

This is a very new trend, so to explain to your guests the concept of the Fiver Party you can purchase this invitation insert that I created. I can customize it with a picture of your child, or you may choose good old honest Abe instead. Slip it inside the envelope with your party invitation or simply attach the JPG to your e-vite!

Above all, don't forget to explain what a Fiver Party is to your birthday boy or girl. This way s/he can get excited about the big gift or awesome experience before the big day.
