I think I read 10+ results after I googled “how to write your first blog post” and I still don’t have a clue how to start. I’ve blogged before, once unsuccessfully (maybe 1-2 posts before I deleted them), and once satisfactorily (a family blog about our infertility journey spanning several months). But this is different in many ways.
First, and foremost, my business is like my child. Now that I’m a mother, I can say that with certainty. In becoming a business-owner, just like becoming a new parent, there has been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, along with doubt, uncertainty, and mistakes. So this blog seems like another step towards legitimacy as a business, and I worry this will place a lot of undue pressure on me.
This blog is also different because, unlike our family blog, there’s no set subject or audience. There’s an over-arching theme of simplify-ing, but that is a wide net I’m casting and it ranges from working with my clients to interesting articles I’ve read to my own personal life and beyond. From what I’ve “researched,” this is general view on blogging is a big no-no, but I’ve always been really good at breaking rules.
So, welcome! Thanks for joining me!
