Turning 40 Without the Existential Crisis

I turned 40 this week.

To celebrate, my husband threw me an epic 90s-themed rollerskating party. We rented out the whole rink, skated for hours, and had the best time. I also came down with laryngitis, which feels very on-brand for adulthood.

What I didn’t have, though, was the existential crisis people warn you about when you hit a big milestone.

If anything, I feel clearer than I ever have.

And clarity is something I don’t take lightly, because it’s also the thing most business owners are missing when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly exhausted.

After years of running a service-based business and living in a body that has forced me to slow down whether I wanted to or not, here’s what I know for sure:

Most business stress isn’t about effort. It’s about structure.
